I have been actively involved with advancing nursing education, by incorporating Information Technology (IT) components into nursing curriculum. I was the principle investigator on a Microsoft research grant that allowed nursing faculty to incorporate Tablet PC into the curriculum. I was responsible for the creation of a healthcare course for both undergrad and Master program for healthcare disciplines such as nursing, radiology, laboratory sciences, gerontology, and nutrition sciences.   As a strong advocate of integrating IT into the graduate Nursing curriculum, I recently designed a Health Informatics course for Nurses Doctorate program. The course teaches students how to incorporate the use of computers and nursing informatics techniques into their professional practice. The course addresses advanced healthcare informatics issues covering; hardware, software, databases, telemedicine, communications applications, and the associated legal and ethical issues.
